So much has happened since my last blog, and it has changed me. I feel brand new, like an entirely different person. I have shaped, reshaped, and unshaped myself into who I truly want to be. The journey took a lot of pain and uncertainty, but the process has been worth it.

It’s been 10 months since I moved out of my parents’ house, and independence has changed me in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve always been an introvert, a lone wolf of sorts, so being alone was never the hard part. The real shift came when I chose to commit to myself. From that moment, everything began to change: my mindset, how I spend my time, my confidence, and my dedication, not just to my career, but to me. I became accountable to the person I was becoming, and it showed in everything: the way I dress, the way I think, the way I approach my work, the way I see the people around me, and most importantly, my morals. I always knew I would grow beyond this phase. I just never imagined it would happen this fast.
One thing I’ve learned about pursuing something uncertain is that, with consistency, things slowly begin to take shape. Take the guitar, for example. You pick it up out of pure interest and start posting your progress online, not for attention, but simply for the love of playing. Then, out of nowhere, brands start reaching out. Influential people begin to notice you. And before you know it, you’ve gone from playing in your room in Lagos to performing on stages you once only dreamed of. That, to me, is exactly how life works. You focus on something uncertain and go all in. Like a puzzle, it makes no sense at first, but after enough attempts, the picture suddenly starts to come together. The goal is simple: keep doing, with or without results. The universe will align when the time is right.

I’ve been finding comfort in journaling for a while now. I’m not sure what this style of journaling is called, but I first came across it through Peter McKinnon on YouTube, and it’s been really fun ever since. I’m the kind of person who writes down whatever comes straight from my mind, even the little things, like my friends’ hobbies and birthdays, because I can be really forgetful. Over time, journaling has opened me up to a deeper kind of writing, and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. Below is one of my recent journal entries, out of many others.

I’ve also been getting into filmmaking, and it’s teaching me a lot. For the first time in a while, I get to be a beginner at something again. I know how it feels to start from scratch, how difficult it can be, and how much time it takes, and honestly, I enjoy feeling like a total noob.
I started learning filmmaking last December, and somehow I enjoy creating just as much as I enjoy watching others create. I’ve always loved content from creators like damiiBTS, AkThaWicked, and Andrew Paul, among many others, and they’ve inspired me to start making my own. I’ve been creating with whatever I have, and I can genuinely see the growth in my storytelling and editing skills. It’s been a wonderful ride so far.

Overall, I recently returned to school after being away for over a year, stepping back because of work and some personal shenanigan I’ve been pushing through. On top of that, I’m still working as a security consultant. I’m excited about where I am, but I’m definitely not comfortable, because I believe there’s still so much more to unveil. With time and consistency, everything eventually takes shape.

So whatever you’re building, learning, or pushing through right now, don’t stop. Show up, even on the days it feels like nothing is moving. The results may be slow, and the path may be uncertain, but every small step counts toward something bigger. The pieces will come together in their own time.
We must keep fighting!.
